Wound-rotor high-voltage motor for large drives that need heavy starting and controlled acceleration; soft start through rotor resistance, ±5 rpm speed control accuracy.

High-Voltage Slip-Ring Motor

High-Voltage Slip-Ring Motor

In a slip-ring motor the rotor winding ends are brought out to copper, steel or stainless-steel rings on the shaft; stationary brushes in contact with the rotating rings allow external resistance to be inserted into the rotor circuit. This limits starting current, raises starting torque and lets speed be controlled in steps.

The rotor is made of a special alloy heat-treated to 45 HRC, with wear resistance 50 % higher than conventional materials. The insulation system withstands 10,000 V, tolerates frequent starts and stops and runs stably for more than 20,000 hours at high load. The aluminium-alloy housing and a 500 m³/h cooling fan keep the temperature rise under control in hot environments.

  • Stable and durable — 45 HRC rotor alloy; 50 % higher wear resistance
  • Effective heat dissipation — aluminium-alloy housing; 500 m³/h cooling fan
  • Precise control — ±5 rpm speed accuracy, torque fluctuation below ±3 %
  • Industry — steel rolling-mill drives
  • Mining — mine hoists, drum drives, crushers and mills
  • Marine — propeller propulsion systems
